Tips For Applying For a Green Card Photo

You are missing an opportunity to apply for an American greencard. An American green card is the permanent resident card that allows people from over 180 countries to live and work in the United States legally. Your permanent resident status is determined by your age, citizenship, and whether or not you have been a U.S. citizen for five years or longer. You have many advantages to applying for and obtaining an American greencard, but there are also many hurdles that you must overcome if your not an American citizen.

For an American green card photo, the most important requirement is that you attach a photo of yourself, your spouse and/or children, along with your visa number. The green card photo should be taken within the past six months and should reveal your current appearance. Although you don't have to submit a photo if your spouse or child is already a legal resident, it will still count. If you are applying to either a husband-or-wife visa, the photo requirement applies.

Another requirement is that you must be at least eighteen years of age, unless you qualify for an expedited green card photo. Please note that this photo requirement does NOT apply to children under the age of sixteen. Some photos are required to be a minimum of 2 inches by 2 inches, but those requirements vary greatly. The United States Visa and Immigration Services website have a list of acceptable photographs. Please make sure you follow the specific requirements for each type of visa.

When applying for a green card photo, it is important to remember that it can take quite a while to receive your documents. It will take approximately three to four months for the United States authorities to review your application. Before you begin to submit your photo papers, please remember that if your submitting an application online, it may take up to eight weeks before you receive a response. If you are applying in person, you may have to wait as long as one month.

When you apply for a green card photo, there are some other requirements that you must meet. In addition to having your photograph on hand, you may have to submit proof of marriage or a divorce decree, or proof of citizenship or naturalization. You may be asked to submit a religious statement, or renunciation letter in some cases. This will describe your personal beliefs about your origin country and how you are associated with that country. You will need to translate your naturalization papers or citizenship papers into your native language.

If you have any special requirements regarding your photograph, you may want to contact the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) before you submit your photo submission. They will provide you with further information, including what forms you need to fill out and what forms you will need to submit with your photo. Before you start the process of applying for your immigrant visa, it is a good idea that you consult an immigration attorney. An immigration attorney will help you understand your options and assist you in completing your forms correctly. Before you submit your photo, it is a good idea to speak with an immigration lawyer if you have any questions.
